Sims Metal Management (SMM) is engaged in the processing, handling and shipping of ferrous scrap metal. Multiworks were engaged by Sims directly to construct the new static shear infrastructure all whilst the site maintained its operation.
The scope of works included:
- Electrical conduit installation and re-route of existing services
- Static Shear slabs and plinths (approx 250m3 concrete, 25T of steel)
- Construction of a new Pump Room inclusive of precast panels, suspended slabs, structural steel platforms and all associated roofing/ plumbing
- Installation and commissioning of new fire services
- Installation and fit-out of static shear mechanical equipment
